1956 |
I had high expectations after reading reviews and seeing some well-known actors, but I found the movie to be slow, uninteresting, and boring.
This film is truly enjoyable and features many well-known actors. It follows the familiar formula of British 1950s films, telling multiple stories within a larger narrative (similar to "Train of Events"). There are some delightful cameo appearances, particularly by Sid James, who plays a boxer that has never won a fight. However, Joan Hickson's portrayal of his wife may require some suspension of disbelief - but overall, it's a fun experience.
Despite the talented cast, this production from the late fifties is disappointing. The story revolves around a group of film extras and unfortunately, it becomes quite dull, with only the boxing scene standing out as a bright moment. Overall, I would not recommend it.
