Although the storyline is similar to others in its genre, overall, the film is decent. It may not be the scariest horror movie, but compared to a couple of recent films labeled as "horrors" that lacked any fear factor, this one at least had some creepiness. After watching the film, I was surprised to discover that it was inspired by real events according to the synopsis. However, some websites suggest that the term "inspired by" might be misleading and that most of the film is fictional. Even the aged photos shown at the end of the movie are fake.
I didn't enjoy the film for several reasons. While I appreciated the effort to age it and give it a 1970's horror feel, that was actually the best aspect of it. However, the rest of the film fell short for me. The acting felt too frantic and overplayed, while the filming itself was dull and boring. The constant loud bickering, screaming (often without reason), and overpowering music throughout the movie became annoying, forcing me to constantly adjust the volume control. Additionally, I found both Evie's character development and the overall ending unconvincing. Overall, watching this film was an irritating experience that I truly disliked.
