Being a big fan of Bellowhead, I finally decided to expand my collection by adding some Spiers and Boden. This compilation album seemed like the perfect starting point. Needless to say, I was not let down. Jon Boden's beautiful voice, combined with the diverse range of music on this album, has kept me coming back for more. It's safe to say that I've been playing this album on repeat.
I recently attended a performance by Spiers and Boden at Sheffield Cathedral, and it was truly exceptional. Their music, singing, and overall entertainment were all top-notch. After the show, I took the time to browse through their albums in search of one that featured most of the songs and tunes they performed that night. I am pleased to say that this particular album did not disappoint. The duo's musical skills and vocal abilities are truly impressive. I highly recommend purchasing it!
I bought this CD after watching the artists perform on a special documentary about the history of music hosted by Jools Holland. I had never heard of the duo before, so I decided to give it a try based on the song they performed on the program. I was pleasantly surprised and now find myself constantly playing this CD in my car. The songs are incredibly well-crafted and highly enjoyable. It's definitely a lovely addition to my collection.
