When Tim 'Avicii' Bergling died on April 20, 2018, he was close to finishing a new album. He left behind almost completed songs, along with notes, email conversations, and text messages that portrayed what he wanted the music to sound like. The songwriters Avicii was working with on this album have continued to work on it to get as close to his vision as possible. Since Tim's passing, the family has been determined not to keep the new music locked away—instead they want to share it with his fans all over the world. Avicii's net proceeds from the album will go to the non-profit Tim Bergling Foundation, which works towards preventing mental illness and suicide.
