The Navy films set onboard HMS Phoebe (called Hero) during the 70's have become a timeless classic. As someone who served in the RN at that time, watching this series brings back fond memories of the banter and camaraderie we shared on these small ships. While some of the stories may be a bit exaggerated, this first series is definitely worth watching. It would be great if they released the rest of the series as well, as it feels unfair to only release one and leave out the others.

I absolutely adored this programme in the seventies and I still adore it now. It doesn't feel dated to me at all, and I actually find it much better than modern productions. Perhaps the creators of Vigil could have gained some valuable insights by watching the Warship series.
