WWE: Sting - Into The Light [Blu-ray]

As a long-time wrestling fan, I am thrilled with this purchase. Being familiar with the history of the Icon Sting adds to my excitement. However, even if you are a young wrestling fan, this would still be a great buy. It provides an opportunity to see where one of the greatest wrestlers of all time came from and how it has shaped the wrestling industry today.

I had high expectations for this considering Sting's legendary career. However, I found the documentary lacking. While it was enjoyable to see him reminisce about his biggest matches, too much time was dedicated to his short WWE career. At times, it felt like a propaganda film. The match selection is a mixed bag - there are some repeats and the earliest matches on the set are not impressive. It only picks up with the Clash of the Champions against Ric Flair. Unfortunately, the match against Rick Rude lacks commentary, which diminishes its impact for me. Some of the other matches seem included solely because of the opponent rather than their quality. The Wrestlemania 31 match was entertaining but had a disappointing outcome and seemed like an excuse to take another jab at WCW.
