Comments & Ratings about this product
"This edition is perfect if you want all the extra features. I don't own the other collection, so I can't say exactly what extras are missing in the 5-disc package. However, based on various comments, it seems that this package does not include the extended cuts of the films and likely has fewer additional features as well. Considering there is a three-disc difference between the two packages, it's safe to assume that a significant amount is missing from the 5-disc set. Additionally, it's worth noting that the 5-disc set has a plain black background with the Superman symbol."
The Superman movies hold immense personal significance for me. They are among a select few films that are truly untouchable. Thankfully, this collection is definitely worth owning. The video and sound quality are excellent, and the menus are simple and user-friendly, unlike some newer releases. The only minor drawback is the lack of movie titles on the discs, but the duration is provided and the box provides details on each version, so it's not a major issue. In terms of the movies themselves, Superman IV may not quite live up to the standard set by the other three films, but it's still enjoyable and certainly better than many other movies out there. It seems like the series had reached its peak by that point and perhaps one more film was unnecessary.
