Thanks for the Dance CD Album

The album "Thanks for the Dance" is a posthumous work by the celebrated Canadian singer-songwriter, Leonard Cohen. It is not a compilation of B-sides and outtakes but a collection of new songs that are exciting and vital, continuing his final work. Seven months after his father's death, Adam Cohen retreated to a converted garage in his backyard near Leonard's house to work with him again, spending time in the company of his voice. From their previous collaboration on "You Want It Darker," there were bare musical sketches, some of which were just vocals. Leonard had asked his son to complete these works. Adam Cohen said, "In composing and arranging the music for his words, we chose his most characteristic musical signatures, in this way keeping him with us." He added that what moves him most about the album is the startled response of those who have heard it, saying, "Leonard lives!" one after the other.
