Festool SYS3 M 137 T-Loc Systainer Tool Storage Case

Festool has been a trusted brand for many years, providing high-quality tools and accessories to professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike. One of their most popular products is the Systainer, which are used for storing and transporting tools and small parts. I have been using these practical boxes for a long time now and am still impressed by their sleek design and functionality.

Recently, Festool introduced a new series called SYS3 M, which I was eager to try out. Some improvements have already been made: The interior is slightly simpler and less convoluted, making it easier to pack and organize tools. The better graduated heights of the boxes are also worth mentioning.

Another new feature is the integrated 2nd handle on the front side. Unfortunately, the execution of this handle is somewhat flawed, as it protrudes slightly forward when coupled with another box due to a collision with the green latch. Festool should work on improving this design so that the handle securely clicks into place.

Changes have also been made to the upper handle: While the old Systainer handle was pulled outwards, the new handle now folds upwards. To prevent it from folding out on its own when the lid is open, Festool has added small molded "nubs" to the handle that are squeezed together when the lid is closed. However, this makes it almost possible to break a finger when trying to unfold the handle. Again, Festool should work on finding a solution that is both safe and easy to use.

It is clear that more emphasis was placed on using these new Systainers as toolboxes during their development. However, these shortcomings should not be overlooked, as they can negatively impact the user experience. With a little more engineering effort, these issues could be avoided.

Despite these minor flaws, I am confident that the Festool Systainer series SYS3 M serves its purpose and makes life a bit easier for craftsmen and DIYers alike. I will continue to trust in Festool products and look forward to future improvements.
